Dr. Rajiv Vaid Basaiawmoit, Ph.D., MBA, is the Head of Sci-Tech Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Aarhus University, Denmark. He is an award-winning Entrepreneurship Educator and works with student-led innovation & entrepreneurship, interdisciplinary collaboration and gamification. He is an invited speaker at many conferences and events around the globe including a TEDx talk. He has earlier been a jury member of a national start-up program called LaunchPad Denmark. From an academic perspective, he conducts research on Entrepreneurship for STEM disciplines and in using gamification to make entrepreneurship a more engaging discipline.
In his spare time he designs & plays games and tries solving some of the most pressing social problems of the world today with games and has won several awards for his innovative approaches. He has also had the pleasure of having pitched some of his novel ideas to some of the world’s prominent and influential people within social change, such as former US President Bill Clinton, Nobel Prize winner Prof. Muhammad Yunus, and CEO of Dubai-based child-education NGO – Sheikh Tariq Al-gurg. He has also used gamification-based approaches to offer solutions to leading NGOs such as Sightsavers to challenge the problem of avoidable blindness in developing countries.
